Happiness Comes From Your Own Actions
From the time we are little, we are taught to seek happiness from external sources. These may be people, events or things in our life. However, as we grow older and evolve, many of us come to realize that happiness does not come from the outside and rather it comes from within. True happiness, joy and contentment comes from personal states of being, and our own actions. In Evita Ochel’s article Happiness Comes From Your Own Actions, the idea that happiness is something each and every one of us can control is discussed.
It is important to not wait for others to bring you happiness, but rather create your own happiness because it is not anyone else’s task to bring you happiness. Those who create their own happiness act happy and are able to be the happiness that they want to have and that they want to see. If they want joy, then they will act joyous to all they encounter. If they want health, they will make all of their actions reflect health. If they want stability they will act with stability, instead of blowing up and reacting to situations impulsively. Whatever a person is seeking, they already have. They just have to bring it out and into their life. Everyone must be the change they wish to see.
It is important for us to remember that is our actions are shallow, then we will get shallow results. If a person pursues happiness through materialistic possessions and fleeting moments, they will find their happiness to be short-lived, but if they have the ability to create happiness rather than pursue it, their happiness will be long lasting. In today’s world we look so much for instant gratification and then we wonder why are we still not happy or why did the happiness only existed for a short amount of time, but there are very few people who realize that the ability to create happiness instead of pursuing it will result in a happier and much more positive life.
It comes as no surprise that the happiest people on this Earth are not the richest, or the most beautiful, or the most successful people, but they are the ones that freely give of themselves to the service of others. Those people’s happiness is immeasurable if their actions comes from a genuine place which is why the key to happiness is not to give just to get, but give for the sake of giving and to create happiness while doing so. It also goes without saying that just because a person may be born into a wealthy or successful family, they are not automatically guaranteed happiness. In fact it is those people who have to work so much harder at finding true happiness as many of them feel that they already own it and then get very disappointed and confused when they do not truly feel it.
It is important for people to know that any one person, regardless of their situation, no matter where they live on the Earth can have happiness. It is never about what you own materially, but what you are able to create happiness out of. All it takes is the right mindset, and happiness can be created out of nearly anything.
