Military Mom Surprises Daughter at High School Graduation
Thousands of military parents across the country miss their child’s/children’s most important milestones. They miss first words, first steps, first day of school, and even their child’s last day of school. In the article Military Mom Surprises Daughter at High School Graduation by Gabrielle Mays, Army Reserve Staff Sgt. Sara Hensley surprises her daughter Paige Tickler at her high school graduation. Despite having to miss many of her daughter’s significant moments in life, Sara was able to help both herself and Paige create happiness by finding a way to attend Paige’s graduation.
For the longest time Hensley was pursuing happiness―longing for the day in which she would be able to see her daughter for the first time in almost a year. It took her a whole year to plan her trip home. Finally Hensley was able to create happiness just last month when she found out she would be home just in time to see Paige graduate. Not only was Hensley able to create happiness from seeing her daughter graduate, but Hensley was also able to hear Paige’s co-valedictorian speech and witness the result of all the hard work her daughter had put in.
Hensley missed a lot of major events this year, but she sure did not miss Paige’s graduation.
